RHL Activities are pleased to announce the return of Jed Etchells to the British Youth Nationals. The Isle of Man youngster finished runner up in the 85 Small Wheel class in 2012, and will be aiming to improve that position in 2013, as he makes a return to the class.
Etchells’ talent is clear and a run of results last season, including a remarkable comeback to third at the Echo Arena Supercross after a first lap tumble, will give him heaps of confidence. He also showed his class earning second place in the 85 Small Wheel class in the RHL Beach Race at Weston. He could be a hard man to beat in the class.
Here’s hoping for a good season this year,” he said ahead of the opening rounds at Wooley Grange on May 4th and 5th. “That said, I am keeping everything crossed though – we’ll need good luck to succeed!
It’s another sign that the British Youth Nationals is bringing strong fields from across the UK to compete, with Etchells one of a trend of returnee riders. It’s something RHL Activities boss Gareth Hockey believes is a sign the championship is in good shape.
“Once people have raced in an RHL event, we see they tend to come back time and again,” he explained. “We’ve seen it with the Beach Race at Weston on many occasions, and it’s the same case with the British Youth Nationals, which is promising to be absolutely fantastic. I’m proud that we’ve got an atmosphere people want to be involved in.”
Any riders wishing to be on the grid for the opening round of the BYN at Wooley Grange on May 4th and 5th has until the end of the week to register their place.
